A Sunday Afternoon With Alice Rialto
Rialto's Jody Adams welcomes author and famed owner of Chez Panisse, Alice Waters, for an afternoon book party to celebrate her newly released, Chez Panisse Fruit.
WHAT:
Rialto's Jody Adams hosts an afternoon reception on Sunday, June 9 from 2-4pm for national best-selling author, Alice Waters, in celebration of her new cookbook, Chez Panisse Fruit (HarperCollinsPublishers; April 2002). Chez Panisse Fruit is a collection of 200 sweet and savory dishes that bring Alice's creativity, passion and commitment to quality to the bountiful subject of fruit. For this occasion, Jody Adams has selected a variety of dishes and drinks this book that represent the bold natural spirit of Chez Panisse. Waters will be on hand to chat with guests and sign copies of her new book.

Alice Waters is owner of the famed Chez Panisse Cafi and Restaurant in Berkeley, CA and author and co-author of several books including Chez Panisse Menu Cookbook, Chez Panisse Cafi Cookbook, and most recently the encyclopedic Chez Panisse Vegetables. Winner of the 1996 James Beard Cookbook Award, Alice has changed the way Americans eat and think about food by championing organic, sustainable agriculture and fresh, seasonal produce. She is a strong advocate for farmers' markets and for sound and sustainable agriculture.
Jody Adams is the nationally acclaimed chef and co-owner of Rialto in Cambridge and a partner in blu restaurant in Boston. In 2002, along with co-author and husband Ken Rivard, she released her first cookbook - In the Hands of a Chef: Cooking with Jody Adams of Rialto Restaurant. The book has received critical acclaim in both The New York Times and on Martha Stewart Living Television. Jody is winner of the 1997 James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northeast and was inducted into Nation's Restaurant News' "Fine Dining Hall of Fame".
