Sushisamba Plays Matchmaker For Valentine's Day 2009

This year, both the naughty and the nice can celebrate the sacred day of love in New York City's most seductive venue. SUSHISAMBA offers a select Valentine's Day menu, with exclusive high-end offerings including: champagne, kobe, oysters and caviar. (see below for menu specials)

As a sweet prelude to the culinary seduction of the Valentine's Day menu, SUSHISAMBA 7 located at 87 Seventh Avenue South, 212.691.7885; will host Cupid's Sake Pairing, where singles meet their match, on Tuesday, February 10th from 7pm to 9pm on the rooftop. The class, taught by Sake Sommelier Franklin Ferguson, will include the comprehensive knowledge of SUSHISAMBA's signature SUSHI and SAKE 101 class, with a romantic twist.

Beginning Sunday, February 1st, NYC singles who register for the course can log on to www.sushisamba.com and fill out an official match-making questionnaire. Based on questionnaire responses, and with the help of the little love god himself, SUSHISAMBA will identify two to three prospective 'pairs'. Registered guests will be notified of their matches name by email. Then, at the February 10th event - singles will have the chance to mingle with their 'matches' (identified by nametag.)

In addition to these fun and flirtatious festivities, SUSHISAMBA friends and family will have the opportunity to share some extra samba love. As a special partnership with Children and Charity International, all SUSHISAMBA locations will receive Valentine templates to color for the charity's Saturday program participants. The templates will be presented to SUSHISAMBA kids of restaurant guests to decorate before their meal. Then, during the week of Valentine's Day - the valentines will be collected and sent to Children and Charity International to be opened on Valentine's Day.

Children and Charity International has for the past several years successfully worked with faith-based and community leaders and organizations in the United States and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Trinidad and Uganda dedicated to improving the quality of life in rural and indigenous communities with education, direct feeding and health programs.
