Guests can enjoy a plethora of famous Spanish Wines at a celebratory cost
to commemorate the occasion
WASHINGTON, DC - Veinte, vingt, venti, TWENTY! Any way you say it and in any language, Taberna del Alabardero has been a fixture in the Washington, DC dining scene for 20 years, which is no small feat in a city that sees restaurants come and go often. Friday, March 27, 2009 marks the restaurant's 20th anniversary and will kick off a year-long celebration with an array of unique offers and events that have never been done by the restaurant before, as well as some guest favorites. The first one begins in April. Throughout the month Taberna will offer more than 100 wines at retail cost, regularly priced at $55 or above, from their award-winning wine list.
"We are both thrilled and humbled to have experienced such success in Washington for 20 years, and are offering these wines to thank our guests for their patronage over the years," says General Manager Javier Vel�zquez. "We hope they continue to enjoy our cuisine, and we hope to serve and impress new Washingtonians and visitors alike for many years to come."
Guests can save anywhere from $40 to $340 on Spain's most distinguished wines including 2004 Maria Casanova Rose from D.O. Cava; a 2004 Milmanada Chardonnay from D.O. Conca de Barbera; a 1998 Torres Reserva Real from D.O. Penedes; and a 2004 Tierra Fidel from D.O.Ca. Rioja.
Taberna del Alabardero's sommelier, Gustavo Iniesta, says, "It is only with the support of our wine sponsors like Torres, Roger Goulart, Bacchus Importers Ltd., Elite Wines, Grapes of Spain, Ol� Imports, The Country Vintner, and Gonzalez Bypass that we are able to bring in these wines at such a reduced costs; they are some of Spain's most prized vintages."
