Taberna Del Alabardero To Host Special Spanish Wine Dinner With Aurelio Cabestrero
Taberna del Alabardero's Sommelier David Bueno has partnered with Aurelio Cabestrero, one of the top Spanish wine importers in the U.S., to present a unique six-course Wine Tasting Dinner. On Friday, November 16th, Washingtonians will have a rare opportunity to taste some of Spain's undiscovered wines paired with Taberna del Alabardero's classic Spanish cuisine. Some of the pairings include San Roman 2004 with Braised Veal Shank with Grilled Asparagus and Piquillo Peppers and Prima 2005 paired with Bacalao Stewed in Tomato Sauce with Sponge Cake.
"Spanish wines have reached new heights in popularity in recent years," said Bueno. "By offering our guests this wine tasting dinner, they will have the opportunity to learn more about the flavors and characteristics of some of the lesser known wines and wine producers of Spain."
Aurelio Cabestrero is the owner of Grapes of Spain and a former sommelier at Taberna del Alabardero. Cabestrero represents 36 producers with a portfolio of over 90 wines from all over Spain. He hand-selects wines that are new to the U.S. market and are from family-owned vineyards that focus on producing high quality wines with limited production.
