Gale Gand to Serve as Chicago Honorary Chair



In support of the education and advancement of women in culinary fields, Women Chefs & Restaurateurs (WCR) will host At the Table Chicago: Toasting Women Chefs & Restaurateurs, part of a national series of events presented by Visa Signature. The At the Table events support WCR's scholarship and internship programs for women at all stages of their culinary careers.



At the Table Chicago will showcase the culinary talents of nationally and locally renowned women chefs and restaurateurs through a one-of-a-kind dining experience for Chicago-area food lovers.



WHAT: Women Chefs and Restaurateurs will host a fundraising reception, dinner and silent auction featuring Gale Gand and other nationally and locally renowned women chefs who will join with female winemakers and sommeliers to present a five course fine dining experience.

WHY: More than 50 percent of the food service industry workforce are women, yet few reach the upper echelons of their profession. The mission of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs is to promote the education and advancement of women in the restaurant industry and the betterment of the industry as a whole. This year WCR will offer 37 career-enhancing scholarship and internship opportunities for both beginning and experienced culinary professionals. Candidates can apply for tuition credit to premier culinary programs, or for the opportunity to study in the kitchens of the world's most talented chefs.
