Ted's Montana Grill Awards Ad Account To Scharbo And Company

ATLANTA - Ted Turner and George McKerrow Jr. have announced that Scharbo and Company has been retained to handle advertising work for Ted's Montana Grill.

"Bringing in Scharbo and Company to handle our advertising is going to be a very important component as we grow our company," said Ted's co-founder Ted Turner. "Ron has shown that he knows how to reach customers."

Scharbo will begin working on the account immediately. Billings were not disclosed.

The deal reunites Ron Scharbo and George McKerrow Jr. Scharbo worked with McKerrow when the latter founded LongHorn Steakhouse, which revolutionized the casual steakhouse segment of the restaurant industry. Scharbo's work for LongHorn received numerous national creative and foodservice industry awards.

"It's great to be back with Ron," said McKerrow. "His creativity and intelligence is well-known in the restaurant business and I'm looking forward to working with him to help grow Ted's."

Ted's Montana Grill is a gathering place for family and friends, offering comfort food for the 21st century. In an authentic, Craftsman-style Montana bar and grill, the restaurant offers time-honored American favorites, hand-made with fresh ingredients.

Scharbo previously did project work with Ted's. Back when the company was in the concept stage he was brought in to help with concept development.

"We went to Montana and chartered a small plane to fly around and get a feel for the kind of place we wanted," Scharbo said. "We talked to restaurant owners, people in small towns and took a lot of pictures."

The result was that Scharbo helped developed the company's name, logo, graphic elements, uniforms, interior design and menu. Ted's has grown to 27 units in nine states.
