Torch Restaurant Burns Brighter Than Ever
After nearly five years on Beacon Hill, TORCH restaurant has changed direction. TORCH is now gastronomically multilingual! Husband and wife team Evan and Candice Deluty have added an Italian element to what used to be a strictly Parisian inspired menu. The restaurant has also undergone major renovations to give it a new fresh look and feel. TORCH is refreshed, refurbished and relaxed. But the Delutys' commitment to serving the finest food at affordable prices with top-notch service remains unchanged.
By popular and neighborhood demand, TORCH is now offering pre and post theatre seating with a guaranteed departure in time to make the curtain. With proper prior reservations, TORCH is now offering to get pre-theater dinners in-and-out in about an hour. TORCH is also now offering a closed curtain seating 10:30 P.M.
"The food we're serving is more reflective of our neighborhood," says Chef/Owner Evan Deluty. "Some of our options are classic, some are a little edgier and some are very simple and pure. Candice and I were mid-20s when we opened TORCH and we have learned so much over the past five years. We're going to have fun and experiment more with cooking!"
THE NEW MENU
New items include Housemade Potato Gnocchi with Artichoke Tomato & Parmesan Reggiano; Braised Lamb Shank with Garlic Spinach, Potato Cake & Red Wine Reduction, Pan-Seared Monkfish with Butternut Squash Risotto and Rock Shrimp, and Wild Striped Bass with Red Pepper Tapenade, Fingerling Potatoes and Balsamic Reduction.
TORCH favorites such as Delutys famous Salmon Tartre and Hanger Steak with Potato Gratin and Truffle Vinaigrette will remain on the winter 2004 menu. TORCH will also now be offering weekly specials with whats fresh and in season. Prices are a great value, with appetizers from $8-$15 and entrees from $16-$25.
THE NEW LOOK
The space has retained its cozy feel, but has freshened its look by opening up two separate walls near the entrance area, coloring the walls taupe, adding mirrors throughout that add fabulous depth and reflections, fresh flowers throughout (arrangements courtesy of Delutys mom), and a rotating display of culinary related photographs by Joe Greene.
THE NEW WINE LIST
TORCHs wine list has also been revamped. Formerly dedicated only to French wines, the selection now features wines from all over says Candice Deluty. The list features wines from California, Italy, Argentina and the current favorite of oenophiles, New Zealand all at affordable and approachable prices with many offered by the glass.
