Touch Restaurant Hosting Fundraising Dinner

Touched By John

For the past three years, Chef John Lucente, Jr. has been a dynamic force at Touch Restaurant and Lounge working in the kitchen as the Chef de Cuisine, along with Executive Chef Sean Brasel.

Recently, John was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing rigorous chemotherapy to battle the disease. Last month, John had to move back to New York for treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. This is his third attempt to rid his body of the cancer. According to John, it is a "very intense program."

Touch Restaurant and Lounge will be hosting a fundraising dinner, "Touched By John" on Sunday, July 29 at 7 pm at the restaurant to help John during this during this difficult time. In addition, there will be a silent auction featuring travel, spa and restaurant certificates. John's brother, Mike, will be at the dinner representing John.

"John is a wonderful person and a talented chef," said David Tornek, Touch's founder and owner. "We want him to know that his friends, his colleagues and his neighbors are rooting for his speedy recovery," Tornek added.
Touch Restaurant and Lounge, located at 910 Lincoln Road, opened in the spring of 2000 and has earned a reputation as one of the most unique dining experiences on South Beach.
