Unique Regional Italian Chocolate Tasting At Vincenti's Benefits Slow Food

Slow Food LA, the Region of Piedmont and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West will present The Piemonte Chocolate Showcase, a chocolate symposium, cooking class demonstration, tasting, and dessert sampler Saturday, March 22, at Vincenti Ristorante, 11930 San Vincente Boulevard, Brentwood, California.

This special event is a benefit for Slow Food LA and will feature the incomparable chocolate of the Piedmont region of Italy. Italian culinary scholar Carlo Cannella of the Universita Di Roma  La Sapienza, will introduce participants to the history of chocolate and the artisan traditions of chocolate making in the Italian region of Piedmont and the city of Turin. Guest chefs from ICIF (Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners - Piedmont), Simone Murru and Pierpaolo Veronese will join Executive Chef Nicola Mastronardi of Vincenti Ristorante in a series of cooking sessions to demonstrate how to use Piemonte chocolate, and Italian sommelier Sergio Vai will pour Italian wines that complements the chocolate of regional producers such as Leone, Peyrano, Gobino, Caffarel, Novi, Pernigotti and Streglio.

The showcase will conclude with a lavish chocolate dessert sampler prepared by the chefs accompanied by coffee and tea.


The three-hour event begins at 12:45 p.m. and costs $65, which includes presentations, chocolate and wine tasting, cooking demonstrations, dessert sampler, recipes, tax, and gratuity. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Slow Food LA. Seating is limited. Call (310) 207-0127 to make reservations.
