Vartan Abgaryan Joins Cliffs Edge As Executive Chef
Chef Vartan Abgaryan brings his fresh, market driven menu to 'Cliff's Edge' for Fall, with the focus on local, sustainable, seasonal ingredients.
WHAT: Cliff's Edge Restaurant is pleased to announce that Chef Vartan Abgaryan will be joining the team as Executive Chef, with effect from Monday, November 26th 2012.
Says Chef Vartan - "I am so excited to be joining Cliff's Edge. I feel that it is going to be a great place for me to grow and evolve as a chef. I'm really looking forward to bringing my personal take on flavor driven, super seasonal cooking to a great neighborhood restaurant. We have some really exciting things in the works."
Chef Vartan will be introducing his new menu for Fall before the beginning of December. Cliff's Edge diners can look forward to such items as:
Charred Octopus / Potato / Lemon / Smoked Aleppo Pepper / Apple
Trotter Sausage / Parsnip / Cipollini / Crispy Shallots
Cauliflower / Ras el Hanout/ Dates / Caper Berries / Brown Butter / Puffed Grains
Menu specials will reflect the best that the market has to offer, changing on a regular basis.
Owners Dana Hollister, Pierre Casanova and Keith Greco, are looking forward to Chef Vartan bringing a new slant to their long established and popular restaurant.
Says Hollister, "Cliff's has been open for eight years now, and in that time we've made a lot of loyal guests and friends. We've grown with the neighborhood, and as a team we're really looking forward to bringing Chef Vartan's incredible creativity and skill to our kitchen. It's important for a restaurant to evolve with its customers, and this is a really exciting stage in our story."

About Chef Vartan Abgaryan:
Vartan Abgaryan began his career late compared to most in the field. At the age of 20, his hunger for food and constant admiration for cooking led him to the kitchen. Educated at Le Cordon Bleu and having worked at the famed Andre Soltner restaurant, Lutece since then, his drive for evolution and growth have made him who he is today . At the age of 25, he became the chef at Red Pearl Kitchen in Los Angeles and then, at 26, A Restaurant in Newport Beach. After 3 years in Newport, his drive brought him back to Los Angeles, this time, Public Kitchen and Bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. As executive chef, his attention and focus on the food was apparent as Public received 2 stars from the LA Times and was mentioned as a 'Restaurant To Watch' in Esquire magazine by John Mariani.
Now, Vartan Abgaryan joins Cliff's Edge as Executive Chef. One of Vartan's most impressive resume notes is that his career has just barely begun. He is a mere 30 years old and yet cooks with the precision and passion of a veteran chef. "I am driven by flavor and I want to cook with flavors that evoke emotion."

Cliff's Edge has been Silver Lake's most popular restaurant since opening in 2004.
