Mastro’s Steakhouse at 1285 Avenue of the Americas and Peter Mondavi, Jr. will host a VIP, five-course wine dinner paired with vintage selections from world-renowned Charles Krug Winery, on Tuesday, April 7, to benefit the Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York. This will be the 13th year the California vineyard has participated in this fundraising event, and anticipates reaching $1 million in funds raised from over the years. The funds raised from each dinner have directly benefitted the Make-A-Wish Foundation, granting 140 wishes over the years!

Charles Krug Winery to Auction 18-Liter Etched Bottle Benefitting Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York

(NEW YORK) – Mastro’s Steakhouse is hosting an exclusive, VIP wine dinner with special guest Peter Mondavi, Jr. of the world-renowned Charles Krug Winery, on Tuesday, April 7 benefitting Make-A-Wish Metro New York. This will be the 13th year the California vineyard has participated in this fundraising event. The funds raised from each dinner have directly benefitted the Make-A-Wish Foundation, granting 140 wishes over the years.
Hosts Peter Mondavi, Jr., co-proprietor of Charles Krug Winery, and Landry’s, Inc. Divisional Vice President, Wine and Spirits, Tylor Field III, have specially-selected these vintage grapes from the Napa Valley winery that are perfectly paired with five courses of the restaurant’s incomparable cuisine.
Peter Mondavi, Jr. is the youngest son of family patriarch Peter Mondavi, Sr., and grandson of Cesare and Rosa Mondavi, the Napa Valley pioneers who purchased the historic winery in 1943.
“Every year, we look forward to hosting this dinner with Peter and the Charles Krug Winery,” said Tylor Field III. “This year’s dinner is a momentous occasion as we anticipate reaching $1 million in funds raised from over the years for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This is a wonderful event with an out-of-this-world menu and unprecedented wine selections, all for a great cause.”
The evening culminates with a silent auction where guests can bid on an 18-liter bottle of 2012 Charles Krug Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish. Tickets are $175 per guest. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m.

About Peter Mondavi, Jr.
Peter Mondavi, Jr. is active in the family farms preservation movement and is a prolific fundraiser for various charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, among others. Peter was named the 2008 California Wine Ambassador for the Portland Classic Wines Auction, chosen from the most highly reputed wineries which produce premium wines representative of their regions. In addition to his winery activities he has been active on several boards; Stanford Business School Alumni Association, Yountville Appellation Association and the Bottlenotes Advisory Board. He lives in Napa Valley with his wife Katie Williams-Mondavi. They have two children, a son Lucio who is a student at Stanford and a daughter Lia who attends Harvard.
