Washburne Culinary Institute Celebrates 70th Anniversary With Expansion

Washburne Culinary Institute is celebrating it's 70th Anniversary by unveiling a state-of-the-art new facility. With six kitchens, including two pastry kitchens, an incubator kitchen, restaurant and pastry shop, the oldest continuously running culinary school in the country, has the newest kitchens in Chicago. Since it is part of City Colleges of Chicago, city residents can take advantage of a greatly subsidized tuition of only $13,000 for an associate degree in either culinary or baking and pastry. There are also basic and advanced certificates available.

The new campus is at 63rd and Halsted. The culinary building which includes free parking for students is at 740 W Halsted.
