Watershed Communications Expands To Nyc: Watershed Communications Builds East Coast - West Coast Bridge With Top Food And Drink Talent

Two of the country's most exciting culinary cities now have one more thing in common - Watershed Communications. Watershed, a national brand strategy and communications firm known for its work with craft brands like Nancy's Yogurt, Steven Smith Teamaker and Bull Run Distillery, recently hired a Director of Media Relations, Helen Baldus. Baldus comes to Watershed from one of the country's largest culinary PR firms, Bullfrog & Baum, and is leading the new brick-and-mortar office in Brooklyn, NY, providing coast-to-coast Watershed expertise.

"Having our headquarters in Portland, Oregon gives us a unique perspective on communicating about our clients in today's artisan economy," says Lisa Donoughe, founder and principal of Watershed. "Our decision to hire Helen and expand our New York presence gives us and our clients continual and valuable access to key media."

From Portland to Santa Cruz to New York City, Watershed's national clients represent connoisseurs in natural foods, winemaking, consumer products and more. Joining the roster in NYC is East Village restaurant and cocktail bar, The Beagle. The Beagle's kitchen is headed by Garrett Eagleton (formerly at Tasting Kitchen and Clyde Common) and serves produce-driven creative American cuisine. The Beagle's cocktail program is comprised of historical, pre-prohibition drinks, with an academic philosophy. Also joining Watershed in NYC is the soon-to-open beer lover's destination, Top Hops. Located in the Lower East Side, Tops Hops will offer more than 700 American craft and imported beers in the bottle, 20 rotating taps for a pint on-site or growlers to-go, as well as ongoing tastings, classes and beer-focused gatherings.
