Women Chefs & Restaurateurs Announce 2006 Scholarship & Internship Opportunities

Louisville, KY-The International Association of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs (WCR) is pleased to announce its 2006 Scholarship and Internship Program. This year WCR will offer 37 scholarships and internships designed to continue the educations and enhance the careers of women in the culinary profession.

The opportunities available include unique studies in the kitchens of the industry's most celebrated women chefs, wineries, and at the country's premiere culinary schools. The opportunities are available to beginning and established professionals.

The application deadline is March 31, 2006. Applications have been mailed to all WCR members, and are also available through WCR's web site at www.womenchefs.org. Scholarship and Internship recipients will be notified in May of 2006.

WCR was founded in 1993 by eight prominent female chefs and restaurateurs with the mission of promoting the education and advancement of women in the restaurant industry and the betterment of the industry as a whole. Today, WCR's membership includes more than 2,000 professionals who represent all sectors of the industry, from culinary students to restaurant owners.
