Welcome To Sobou - New Orleans' Modern Creole Saloon

SoBou is open! The brand new "spirited restaurant," offering cutting-edge cocktails and Louisiana street food inspired small plates within W New Orleans - French Quarter welcomes its first guests today, July 9, 2012.

The trusted and talented team behind the Commander's Family of Restaurants, including "cocktail chick" Ti Adelaide Martin, have creatively blended the flavors and "spirit" of New Orleans, guaranteeing SoBou will be the city's hottest opening of the year. Led by an all-star team including Executive Chef Juan Carlos Gonzalez, and Consulting Chef Tory McPhail of Commander's Palace, SoBou's Creole, Cajun and southern-influenced dishes will perfectly complement celebrated Bar Chef's Lu Brow and Abigail Gullo's state-of-the-art cocktail program. Ideally located in the swanky W French Quarter, SoBou will offer guests an exceptional dining experience including a bar chef table, self-serve wine machines, a hidden courtyard, and a beer garden.

"We call it our modern Creole saloon. This is cooking with Louisiana DNA...and adult beverages. As you know we're serious about a well-made cocktail. How about pouring yourself an ounce pour of Silver Oak? We're having fun, "says Ti Martin.

Beginning with the playful logo of "Barbar" the elephant, SoBou is stylishly appointed, evoking the spirit of the Big Easy. "When designing the restaurant, we looked back to the iconic speakeasies such as the Absinthe House where our family began, the Stork Club, 21 Club and Dixie's Bar of Music. We thought of their ads and the old liquor ads that all seem to have a jockey, or a monkey, or a pirate. Somehow BarBar, our pink elephant, came to life in that same vein - visions of pink elephants long being associated with those partaking in a particularly celebratory evening. BarBar has that SoBou style - he's debonair, but always up to something. He has plans, and you can join him at any point along the way," continues Ti Martin. SoBou's contemporary setting interweaves tones of bold gray and rich gold with dark wood furnishings and a number of dining experiences including the Bar Chef's Table, Hidden Courtyard, and the self-serve Wine and Beer Garden.
