Whistlepig Straight Rye Whiskey And Company Mascots Mortimer And Mauve (kune Kune Piglets) Make Their Offical Debut

WhistlePig Farm Distillery announces today the launch party of its first whiskey, WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey. The whiskey is hand selected by Dave Pickerell, who spent over a decade crafting Maker's Mark and bottled by hand at WhistlePig Farm. WhistlePig, bottled at 100 proof and born of 100 percent rye grain, has already won Wine Enthusiast's "HIGHEST EVER" rating for a rye whiskey at 96 points, and is virtually sold out of its first year allocation of 1000 cases.

Retailing at a suggested price of $69.99 for a 750ml bottle, WhistlePig is already being served at New York's trendsetting restaurants like Blue Hill, Pastis, Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, The Standard Hotel and speakeasies like PDT and Death & Co.

Raj Peter Bhakta, hosting the party, is the owner and founder of WhistlePig. Bhakta has been a banker, a contestant on The Apprentice, an entrepreneur, and Congressional Candidate. His upbringing, as a first generation American in an entrepreneurial Indian-Irish family engendered in him a great love of country and an interest in business. Bhakta has returned again to his roots as an entrepreneur in launching WhistlePig.

"Over ten years in the making and already flying off of shelves, WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey more than deserves the type of fun and big launch affair it will receive tonight," says Bhakta. "Demand for our whiskey already exceeds supply. We know that WhistlePig is one of the world's truly finest whiskies. I am deeply grateful to our dedicated following of enthusiasts who make the future look so bright for WhistlePig. Our great initial success deserves to be commemorated with a proper, slamming, good timing party from which we hope at least one or two scandalous stories emerge. The theme is roaring twenties - a period of great optimism - an elixir of which America now needs more and WhistlePig is offering our very own tonic to fuel things along so - at least at our launch - America will be on a roll again."

WhistlePig's launch will be rung in tonight at The Royalton Hotel with an invite only tasting followed by Roaring Twenties-themed party. Guests will polish up their Charleston moves - professional instructors will be present for those who want to learn a few new tricks - to the sounds of a live band, whose ranks include several of the musicians who created the Boardwalk Empire soundtrack. Also debuting will be WhistlePig cabaret models in period costume who will lead a procession of our brand's oinking, kune kune piglets, Mortimer and Mauve.
