Wine Lovers Tours Gets More Italian Press Coverage

Wine Lovers Tours made the Italian press a 2nd time for its recent La Famiglia tour. The most recent article was published in the current issue of Volcei Oggi, a periodical dedicated to the region once populated by the Volcei tribe that was destroyed by the Romans and only inadvertently rediscovered after the devastating earthquake of 1980.

The town of Buccino located in Southern Italy one hour south of Salerno is the epicenter of the Volcei culture. La Famiglia participants stayed in the bucolic town of 5,000 inhabitants for the entire 3 days of the centuries' old Festa della Madonna, where the statue of the Virgin Mary is carried through the streets and many in the procession walk with bare feet.

Although this was not a typical wine and food tour, participants did visit 5 wineries, including the wine caves of the remote town of San Gregorio and even sampled its unique "worm" cheese.
The entire group was welcomed by the town Mayor, Pasquale Via and then given a private tour of the recently opened Volcei Museum with hundreds of artifacts.

The focus of the tour was rural Italy, in particular Campania and the Marche region.

Sincerely,
