As wine lovers prepare summer plans, June 14  19, 2005 should be blocked out for Wine Week in The Woodlands. The inaugural six-day event presented by H-E-B includes elements varying from a relaxed wine walk to an elegant grand tasting, with appeal reaching from casual wine drinkers to the most discerning connoisseurs. The beautiful natural backdrop of thick woodlands and the amenities of shopping, golf and fine dining make The Woodlands, Texas the perfect setting for a week of specially styled wine events.


THE EVENTS
Wine Week Wine & Dine
Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15
This series of vintner dinners features unique Texas wines paired with respected non-Texas wines at select restaurants in The Woodlands. Guests will enjoy beautifully prepared meals and outstanding wines in the company of some of the country's foremost wine experts. The dinners will be held on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15 at three different locations each night.

Wine Week Walk
Thursday, June 16
Attendees have the opportunity to take a wine walk through the quaint, European-style Market Street, an outdoor shopping and entertainment center. Along the way, strollers will enjoy stellar wines from around the world, music and street entertainment. Winemakers will be stationed at galleries. and retail stores. Market Street's beautiful green space, Central Park, will feature entertaining cooking demonstrations and abundant fun and entertainment.

Wine Week Wines of the World for $12 or Less
Friday, June 17
A fun, relaxed event with mass appeal, Wine Week Wines of the World for $12 or Less features high quality wines from across the globe that retail for $12 and less. Wines will be showcased by region and will include wines from California, Texas, Italian, French and other regions. While enjoying the casual, happy hour style atmosphere of this event, attendees also will be entertained by cooking demonstrations by celebrated Food Network Chef and host of TV's Bay Cafe Joey Altman.

Wine Week Rendezvous
Saturday, June 18
The Wine Week of The Woodlands grand tasting event, Wine Week Rendezvous highlights hundreds of wines and foods personally prepared by brilliant chefs, with traveling to The Woodlands from across continents and others cooking right in their own back yard. With more than 500 wines to be sampled and paired with delicious taster portions of foods prepared on site during cooking demonstrations, this elegant affair is for anyone who appreciates fine food and wine.

Wine Week Wine and Wailing
Sunday, June 19
At Wine Week Wine and Wailing attendees will enjoy bubbles to tickle their nose and rhythm to tap their toes. This jazz brunch features great live music and good food, complimented by super star sparkling wines. A week of fabulous events culminates with great tunes and fine wines.

Wine Week Wine Wizards
Dates and times throughout the week
Throughout wine week, interesting, educational and entertaining seminars conducted by wine experts from around the world will be held for the public. Seminars will vary, ranging from casual informational sessions to build the base for the wine novice to more formal training to expand the knowledge of the wine enthusiast.

THE VENUES
Wine Week of The Woodlands events will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center and Market Street, both located in Town Center, the heart of activity in The Woodlands. The Marriott is situated along The Woodlands Waterway, the recently completed 1.25-mile riverwalk that runs through the heart of the community and creates a beautiful backdrop for wine week events. Market Street is The Woodlands newest retail and restaurant center including the hottest galleries, stores and restaurants. Vintner Dinners will be held at various restaurants throughout the community.
