Wines From Spain Announces Fall Dates For 2006 Great Match: Wine And Tapas Tour

Wines from Spain, a division of the Trade Commission of Spain, has announced the fall dates for its annual Great Match: Wine and Tapas. For 13 years, the Great Match has toured the country, offering consumers and members of the trade an opportunity to experience first-hand the versatility of Spanish wines with a variety of cuisines. This year's Great Match: Wine & Tapas fall events will take place in New York City on Thursday, September 21; Washington D.C. on Wednesday, October 4; and Miami on Wednesday, November 8.

"The Great Match has been extremely influential in helping to educate both industry professionals and consumers about the quality and variety of Spanish wines today. Attendees can taste more than 200 wines from many of Spain's 64 denominations of origin making this event the largest showcase of Spanish wines in this country," said Katrin Naelepaa Director of Wines from Spain. "In addition to tasting wines from renowned regions such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Priorat and Jerez, guests can also learn about both lesser known and up and coming regions such as Jumilla, Montstant, Alicante and Rueda."

The 2006 Great Match Fall Tour will include the following cities and dates:

New York City- Thursday, September 21, Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th Street
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Tasting exclusively for industry trade and media
6:00 - 8:30 p.m. -Consumer Event: Admission: $60. Advance purchase is required; there will be no ticket sales at the door. 100% of proceeds will be donated to CITYMEALS-ON-WHEELS.
