January, 2004 Chef Scott Campbell, recognized as one of true pioneers of fine casual dining on the Upper West Side, has built a well earned reputation as one of the most innovate and talented chefs in the country. Chef Campbell puts an exciting and exotic twist on his menu for Valentines Day with his XTREME CHOCOLATE menu. Chocolate is the number one flavor in the US, and it is the most popular gift item (as well as flowers) for Valentines Day. Casanova made a name for himself using chocolate as a prelude to his famous conquests. Campbell brings the magic of chocolate to a new level this Valentines Day with a sexy selection of extreme chocolate - and chocolate inspired dishes. Available ` la carte.
On Valentines day, each table will receive a complementary: copy of Chocolatier Magazine; two-piece box of Martines Chocolates; and a copy of Luciano Pavarottis Ti Adoro, an album of original love songs for everyone from the worlds most famous tenor. Filled with tender melodies and sweet moments, Ti Adoro, is a beautiful compliment to a Valentines Day celebration. (Available at Barnes & Noble.)
It all began with Campbells SQC Famous Hot Chocolate (rated # 1 by New York Magazine) and which has just given rise to a new menu of thirteen hot chocolates! Campbell then created a Hot Chocolate Gateau, a Hot Chocolate Ice Cream and for Valentines Day, the chef turned his magic with chocolate into an entire menu, from savory to sweet. I like spicing dishes up with chocolate, notes Chef Campbell. Chocolate isnt just for desserts, which is how most people think of it, he adds. Before dinner one can enjoy a refreshing Choclatini cocktail. Campbell puts his signature twist on Americas number one flavor with sensational starters such as the Roasted Squash & Coconut Soup with Cocoa Toasted Cashews; Forest Greens with Pistachios, Chocolate Nibs, Persimmon & Infused Chocolate Vinaigrette; or the Crab Croquettes with Roasted Tomatilo and Chocolate Chipotle Sauce.
The Extreme Chocolate Valentines menu main courses are sure to satisfy and scintillate discerning (food) lovers Braised Beef with Chocolate Stout & Chive Whipped Potatoes; Roasted 6 Spice Duck with Chocolate Hoisin Sauce and Roasted Chile Rellenos; Pan Seared Chicken with Mole, Roasted Butternut Squash & Smoked Cheddar Fondue; and Hickory Smoked Tenderloin with Pommes Frites and Chocolate Ketchup.
A dessert menu isnt a dessert menu without chocolate, and SQC goes beyond their famous SQC Hot Chocolate to create heaven on earth for chocolate lovers. Giandujia Chocolate Hazelnut Panini with Hazelnut Ice Cream; Chocolate Dipped Goose Berries on lines of Chocolate with Marshmallow Br{lie; German Chocolate Cake with Roasted Banana Ice Cream & Bananas Foster; Spice & Ice Profiterolles with Ancho Hot Fudge Sauce and Coffee Ice Cream; and the SQC Silver Dollar Chocolate Chunk Johnny Cakes with Buttercrunch Ice Cream.
