Zagat Rates Rathbun's As One Of Atlanta's
ATLANTA, GA., June 21, 2006: Zagat's 2006/2007 Survey of Atlanta Restaurants has just named the Top restaurants in Atlanta and Rathbun's was voted the second "Most Popular" restaurant in the city. Additional awards from the survey on Rathbun's are "Top Food", "Top New American Cuisine", and, "Top Service". Zagat Survey is printed every two years and this is the first time Rathbun's has been rated in the survey. Rathbun's has only been open two years and has been awarded numerous awards for their distinctive cuisine by Chef/ Owner Kevin Rathbun.
About Rathbun's: Rathbun's opened on May 27, 2004 in an area that could be considered risky and otherwise known as the warehouse area of Inman Park. Overcoming all odds, Rathbun's was named as one of the "Best New American Restaurants of 2004" by Travel and Leisure Magazine, "Best New Restaurant 2004" by Esquire Magazine, "Best New Restaurant" by Atlanta Magazine, "Best New Restaurant" by Creative Loafing, Best New Restaurant by Jezebel Magazine (2005), It has been chosen as one of the "Top Ten Restaurants" in Atlanta by the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Atlanta Magazine selected Rathbun's as the "Restaurant of the Year" in 2005. About Kevin Rathbun: Kevin has worked with renowned chefs like, Bradley Ogden, Emeril Legasse, and Stephen Pyles. He was nominated for the James Beard "Rising Star Chef" of 1994. He brought Atlanta Southwestern cuisine with NAVA and then introduced Fusion to Atlanta as the opening Executive Chef of Bluepointe. From 1999-2003, Kevin was the Corporate Executive Chef for the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, and oversaw many of the restaurants. In May of 2004, Chef Kevin opened his signature restaurant, Rathbun's, in the Inman Park area of Atlanta. In September 2005, Rathbun opened Krog Bar, a Mediterranean Wine Bar that is located only 200 feet from his award-winning restaurant.
