Chef Chris Debarr of Serendipity - Biography

Chris DeBarr has 17 years of New Orleans restaurant experience, but he first made a name for himself cooking at The Delachaise, an uptown wine bar he left last July and an unconventional showcase for a chef of his skill level. At The Delachaise, DeBarr's food suggested a boundless curiosity about the world of food, and it’s a curiosity he expanded on at French Quarter favorite Green Goddess. Green Goddess was more than just a showcase for DeBarr's culinary imagination (often inspired by the jazz of his hometown); it was a forum for his wine savvy (it's natural wine selection was one of the best in the city).

In May 2012, DeBarr announced that he would leave Green Goddess for a new venture in New Orleans' Mid-City neighborhood. Sernedipity (with its large dining room, beautiful bar, stage for live music, and serious kitchen) will be the best space yet for DeBarr to cook his signature wild, globe-hopping cuisine.
